Ms. Yam graduated from Smith College with a BA in Math and Economics. She received her MBA in finance from University of Chicago. She has been in the pension business for over 15 years. Eight years ago, she started Pension Maxima with an objective to provide independence, cost transparency, and a platform that benefits clients’ needs first. Ms. Yam has assisted many companies in analyzing their 401(k) plan costs, successfully helping companies save costs, sometimes as much as 50%. She has written two Ebooks, “401(k) Benchmarking” and “Understanding 5500”.
She is also highly involved in educating the community. She is a CPA CPE sponsor in New York and New Jersey. She is also a HR CE sponsor in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and California and a PFC for the Military. She created Financial Wellness Tower, a website that aims to make financial education fun. Learning is conducted through animated cartoon videos, interactive learning tools through social media, quizzes and activities.
She also helps owners in maximizing their business value through the five steps of value maturation.

Kai graduated from the University of Michigan with an MBA in Finance. He began his career in corporate banking with J P Morgan Chase and has accumulated extensive experience in the area of credit and financial management. He has also worked at AXA Advisor, Countrywide and Bank of America where he gained valuable experience in financial advisory as well as mortgage consultation. Kai is a CFA charterholder. He also holds the FRM and PRM risk management designations, a licensed Real Estate Broker and member of CFASF, GARP, PRMIA and SCCAOR.
John F. Recchia, CRC
Specialty: Retirement Income Planning
John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Pace University. He specializes in budgeting and retirement income planning. He takes a holistic approach towards the planning process which includes tax planning, insurance planning, investment planning and estate planning. He is a Certified Retirement Counselor® and has completed the Certified Financial Planner courses from Pace University outlined by the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards. He is a member of the Westchester Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, NYC Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, an active member of my parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Pearson Yam, BA
Pearson is a graduate of New York University with a B.A. in Economics. Pearson has worked for financial institutions such as Morgan Stanley and MBIA before joining Pension Maxima as a financial consultant. Stephanie Burkland has worked in the Social Security claims arena for over 35 years. Her first 25 years were spent as an award winning Social Security Administration claims representative earning sixteen “Recognition of Contribution” awards, four “Superior Performance” awards, one “Special Act of Service” award and regularly recognized by her superiors as, “a motivating influence to other Social Security Administration employees!”
After her distinguished career with the Social Security Administration, Stephanie worked as a Social Security benefits advocate for numerous private sector firms. Once again, Stephanie’s performance was exceptional as evidenced by the numerous awards and recognition she received from her corporate and individual clients. These awards include the prestigious “Extra Mile” award given by the Mental Health Association of Westchester, New York.
In addition to the recognition she received for her advocacy work by her clients and even while working in the private section, Stephanie was also recognized by the Social Security Administration for her efforts to expose a systemic flaw in the claims paying procedures for certain beneficiaries. Her work resulted in a NATIONWIDE refresher training of all Social Security Administration payment center benefit analysts.
